Idasa is an independent public interest organisation committed to promoting sustainable democracy based on active citizenship, democratic institutions, and social justice.
It is a registered Section 21 company in South Africa, has a functioning Board of Directors, and employs Price Waterhouse Coopers as its company auditors. IDASA is a nationally recognised public interest organisation in South Africa. It maintains
international links with many similar organisations through the world movement for democracy.

The Advisory Group on Civil Society and Aid Effectiveness of the international donor community has sought to facilitate an inclusive process that aims to clarify the roles of civil society in relation to the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. This site continues the discussion started at an Idasa workshop in April 2008.
